Common Cat Health Poblems

Cats are gentle animals. This also means that they can get sick all the time. You will have to pay a lot of attention on your cat. As soon you notice something wrong, you will have to take your kitten or adult cat to a veterinarian. Here are some of the most common cat diseases.
1.    Lower Urinary Tract Disease is a disease that affects the urethra and bladder. You will notice symptoms like: not using a litter box, blood in the urine and straining without making urine. In this case, you must take your cat to a veterinarian immediately. If these are symptoms of a urethral blockage, it can be fatal. The first step is to solve the cause of the symptoms. In most cases the treatment includes drugs and antibiotics. In some cases, additional treatment is required.
2.    Cancer affects cats as well. Lymphosarcoma is the most common cancer that affects many cats. This cancer may be in the chest or intestinal. The symptoms may include: swelling, lethargy, vomiting and diarrhea, weight loss and difficulties in breathing, defecating or urinating. In this case your cat must have a chemotherapy or surgery.
3.    Heartworm Disease is a serious problem for many cats. There is no cure for this disease. In most cases it is fatal. However, in some cases a cat may beat the disease on its own. A veterinarian may prescribe a medication that should ease the inflammation.
4.    Kidney disease means that your cat cannot eliminate all the waste from the urine. This also means that toxins will accumulate into the bloodstream. There are many reasons for this diseae4. Usually they are; cancer, high blood pressure, toxins and infections.
